First blog post!!!

Hi, it's Joanne,
I thought it was about time I started posting what I'm writing (mostly album and gig reviews) online, so you can all see them. I've got a busy summer a head of me, including 2 festivals, a few gigs, and listening to new album releases, so there's no better time to start posting online than now.
If you have any recommendations of what I should check out, or want to discuss your opinions on here feel welcome too :) I'd love to hear.
I'll try and have my first post up for Monday, hopefully a playlist of what I've been listening to this week, hope you enjoy :)

Bombay Bicycle Club at Citadel, Victoria Park

This year Citadel closed Victoria Park's festival weekend, although it was a one day festival, the celebrations had started off on the Friday with Lovebox festival. This was Citadel's first year as a festival, and from crowd reactions, I doubt it will be the last. Citadel saw Bombay Bicycle Club headline one of the few festivals they are playing this year. After a massive 2014, with Mercury nominated album "So long, see you tomorrow" and the last ever headline show at Earl's Court Exhibition Center, they have slowed down on the touring this year, but still made time to headline in their hometown.  The set opened with "Overdone" letting the crowd know what they were in for, an hour of fun, dancey, indie rock music. You could tell from the looks on the band's faces they were happy to be there, which obviously had a positive effect on the crowd. Wolf Alice – You’re A Germ Second single off the North London quartet’s debut, with a hard to ignore name. You’re A Germ is a single with a narrative, which would take listeners back to their school days, talking about teenage relationships, they build on the nostalgia, which is a common theme throughout their first album. It’s the grungy sound we’re used to from Wolf Alice, but the song is a massive build up of lead singer’s Ellie Roswell’s emotions, starting off with a steady beat, going into something a lot heavier, making the single work, because of the contrast. FFS – Call Girl The Scottish, American super group, made of Franz Ferdinand and Sparks release Call Girl off of their Debut, self titled, album. Using funky harmonies, to make the chorus stay in your head all day, the song wants fans and audiences to enjoy it.
